The new school year is here! The beginning of the Fall semester brings newness, excitement, and potentially some questions about your financial aid. That is why we wanted to take this opportunity to answer some of the most popular questions we are receiving to make sure you are #WildcatReady for this year!

  1. Why hasn’t aid been released to my student’s account? There are several reasons why financial aid has not been disbursed and we’ve outlined them below:
  • Open To-Do List items - These items delay financial aid from releasing and need your attention as soon as possible. Learn how to review To Do List items in the Student Center here.
  • Holds - Similar to incomplete To Do List items, a hold can also prevent the release of your financial aid. Learn how to review Holds in the Student Center here.
  • Enrollment - Some aid requires students to be enrolled in a certain number of units. Learn how enrollment impacts financial aid on our website here.

If your student has already acted on your pending To Do List items or Holds and are waiting on documentation to be processed by our office, they may also see a delay in the release of financial aid. Processing timelines for the start of the semester are typically three to four weeks. Please know we are working diligently to complete these pending items so financial aid can be released as soon as possible.

  1. My student is expecting a refund from their financial aid. How is that sent to my student?

The quickest way to receive this refund is by signing up for a Web Refund (aka direct deposit) via UAccess Student Center. If your student doesn’t sign up for a Web Refund, a paper check will be sent to the mailing address on file. Read more about refund options on the Bursar’s office website.
