DO STUDENTS NEED INSURANCE TO VISIT CAMPUS HEALTH?
Insurance is not required to receive services at Campus Health. However, it is strongly recommended that every student maintain adequate health insurance to cover unexpected medical expenses.
Student Discounted Rate – With support from the Health & Recreation fee, services are offered at an affordable rate compared to those provided in the community. Registered main-campus students are automatically eligible for the Student Discounted Rate.
Commercial Health Plans – Already have insurance? Campus Health is a participating provider to most United Healthcare, Aetna, BlueCross/BlueShield, Cigna, and Health Net plans for primary care services. Please check directly with your insurance carrier if Campus Health is a participating provider under your plan (Tax ID 74-2652689).
SUMMER HEALTH CARE OPTIONS:
CampusCare – This health care option serves as an ideal bridge for students covered by any type of health plan where one may have a high deductible, limited benefits, or no coverage for charges incurred at Campus Health. CampusCare is not an insurance policy. CampusCare covers most expenses after a designated office visit fee for services provided exclusively at Campus Health.
Summer CampusCare: Students are eligible for CampusCare if they are registered for at least 1 summer registration unit. Spring CampusCare enrollees have the option to add summer coverage without needing a summer registration unit. Enrollment is optional for Summer CampusCare and enrollees will not be auto-enrolled for summer coverage. For summer enrollment/cancellation, submit an “Enrollment/Cancellation” form securely by the deadline.
Student Health Insurance Plan – This is a top-tier medical policy with nationwide coverage and an emergency benefit worldwide. Under this plan, Campus Health serves as the Primary Care Provider. Students have direct access to Emergency Rooms, participating Urgent Care facilities, an Annual Routine Eye Exam, and OB/GYN services, including preventive and routine services received from in-network providers. The Student Health Insurance can only be added, canceled, or changed during the published open enrollment. However, there are certain qualifying life events that will allow one to come onto the plan outside the open enrollment, providing arrangements are made within 30 days of the qualifying event. Please contact the Campus Health Insurance Office for more information: chs-insurance@distribution.arizona.edu.
Summer Student Health Insurance: Summer students are eligible for the session they are showing at least 1 unit in; summer pre-session, 1st or 2nd session. Summer enrollment must be maintained through the entire eligibility period. For summer enrollment/cancellation, submit an “Enrollment/Cancellation” form securely by the deadline.
