Nutrition Resources at Campus Health
Individual nutrition consultations are available for all students at Campus Health. Here at Campus Health we have three nutrition counselors available for appointments most days of the week. We work closely with other providers here at Campus Health to provide a team approach to health and wellness.
When visiting a Campus Health nutrition counselor, you will be provided with up to date and evidence-based nutrition information from registered dietitians. All our dietitians have many years of experience, treating different conditions such as digestive disorders, food allergies and intolerances, diabetes and other endocrine disorders, eating disorders and sports nutrition. We can also can provide support for meal planning and cooking on a budget.
Each visit, the dietitian will review health goals most important to the student and provide a compassionate and individualized approach. We aim to be encouraging and a source of accountability. We also focus on any specific dietary needs and tailor plans to meet the lifestyles of our students. Campus and college life is unique and we are very respectful of that.
Nutrition at Campus Health also offers programing to engage students on nutrition topics and well-being all throughout the year. Our main programs include:
Body Positive Arizona: The Body Positive Arizona Initiative at Campus Health Service is a team of students and staff dedicated to enhancing self-worth and positive body image among all University of Arizona students. It is our goal to get the message out that every body is beautiful in its own way, and diversity is something to be celebrated. Through events around campus, workshops, and monthly discussion series, we hope to be a positive force of change in how students on campus view themselves and others.
Nutrition Navigators: Nutrition Navigators is your go to program for all things nutrition. Giving you the facts to enhance your nutrition knowledge. Our programs provide a food neutral message and are fun! Program options include drop in Q&A at the Rec and monthly nutrition focused presentations on hot topics. We also write monthly articles on nutrition topics students ask us about! Nutrition Navigators aims to increase confidence, take the stress out of eating and promote a healthy relationship with food.
Cooking on Campus and Dorm Room Eats: Cooking on Campus is a hands-on class, focusing on teaching students how to make healthy, home-cooked meals throughout college, and beyond! Student Chefs will show you how easy it is to make tasty food during this hands-on culinary crash course. We will teach you the basics and take you beyond your expectations. Dorm Room Eats Dorm Room Eats. Provides FREE cooking demos for approachable and dorm friendly recipes that you'll be excited to eat! Come join the fun environment and connect over some good eats!
