Is your nest feeling a little more empty than normal?

Your new Wildcat is getting settled in their dorm and we are so excited that they’re here. We recognize that this is a big, exciting, and emotional adjustment. And not just for them but potentially for you, too.

So how are YOU doing?

If you are experiencing feelings of sadness, relief, exhaustion, pride, elation, or even perhaps feeling a bit uncertain, this is all normal!

Living on-campus is such a special part of the college experience. While no student’s journey is ever the same, we are hopeful the year ahead will provide rewarding moments, fun memories, new connections, and important lessons in responsibility. Your student will also be navigating tremendous personal growth and many new challenges.

Because your Wildcat is likely to go through various stages this next year, Housing & Residential Life will continue to provide articles via PawPrints Newsletter to share with you some insights of the exhilarating and complex student journey ahead.

One of the upcoming stages students often go through is homesickness. We'll be writing more about how this is actually a normal experience for students in the next PawPrints Article.

One last thing – we know you’re just getting adjusted to the idea of what this year looks like for your student, but if you are already planning for 2022-2023, keep in mind our housing application for returning students will open in October.

Bear Down!
