Hello, parents and families!

Welcome to the start of the 2021-22 academic year! We are excited to welcome students back to campus, and especially, into our new office space on the 4th floor of the Bartlett Academic Success Center.

The A Center offers many services to support Undeclared students no matter where they are in their academic journey:

-Academic advising: we assist students with planning their course schedule and help connect them to resources across campus as needed.

-TLS 100: this is a first semester course for incoming students to The A Center. It is designed to help students make a smooth transition to the University and get connected to campus resources, other students, and their academic advisor.

-Major exploration: we work with students to help them find a major that is well suited to their interests and academic strengths. We offer individual major exploration appointments, programs such as the Meet Your Major Fair (it will be virtual again this year!), and SERP 197P, a 2 unit major exploration course. Additionally, students have the opportunity to complete the My Majors assessment, in which they will answer questions about their interests and values, and will receive a list of 10 majors that could be a good fit for them based on how they answer those questions.

-Pre-Health and Pre-Law advising: if your student is interested in attending law or a health professional school, they will want to connect with these advisors. Pre-Health and Pre-Law advisors will help guide your student through the process of preparing for and completing the application process.

-Life Management Counselor: we are lucky to have our very own mental health counselor in The A Center! Students can reach out by email or schedule an appointment for extra support during challenging times. Learn more about student support resources here.

Students are encouraged to schedule an appointment with their academic advisor at least 2-3 times per semester. To meet with advisors in The A Center for any of the above topics, please visit our website.

We look forward to working with your students!
