Throughout the first few weeks at the University of Arizona students will have many opportunities to participate in activities, get acquainted with campus, make friends and find whatever support they need to be successful.   Student Success & Retention Innovation is there to help along the way.

Students can find many events happening on campus on the Wildcat Welcome website or if they are looking for something specific they can ASK SOS.

Visit Wildcat Welcome for updates or text Welcome to 70542.

How are we supporting your student?

To help students successfully transition to campus, all new students are added into a module within the learning management system (D2L) called Launchpad.   They will have access to resources they likely learned about during orientation, but may have forgotten.

Topics include:  How to be a successful student, the importance of asking for help, how to manage university services and why Tucson is a great place to live.

We want to know how your student is doing, so we reach out regularly throughout the year to provide them with resources and just check in.

During the year students receive:

  • Weekly Emails
  • Monthly Text Messages
  • Check-in Emails (twice per semester)
  • Invitations to special events to help them connect with campus

There are students, staff and faculty here to help your student feel welcomed on campus, find their place to belong and succeed academically.  Please encourage your student to reach out, or respond with questions and concerns when we contact them.
