While your student wraps up the fall semester and heads home for winter break, one topic to keep in mind is their health care coverage. During the open enrollment period, students may choose to enroll for one of two health care options available – The Arizona Board of Regents (ABOR) Student Health Insurance Plan (underwritten by Aetna) or CampusCare.

Health Care Options

UA Students* who are registered for classes at the University of Arizona do not need health insurance to access services at Campus Health (see Student Discounted Rates). However, we strongly urge every student to maintain adequate health insurance to cover unexpected medical expenses.

Arizona Online, UA South (AZCAST) & Distance Learning students are required to pay the Health portion of the Health & Recreation fee to access care at Campus Health or enroll for the available health care options.

Already Have Your Own Health Plan?
Campus Health is a participating provider to most United Healthcare, Aetna, Cigna, Blue Cross/Blue Shield, and Health Net plans for Primary Care Services. To see if Campus Health is a participating provider under your plan, please contact your plan’s member services and provide them with the Campus Health Tax ID#: 74-2652689. Also, take this opportunity to inquire about your plan’s coverage.

CampusCare

CampusCare is an option that covers most expenses after a designated office visit fee for services provided exclusively at UA Campus Health. This option serves as an ideal bridge for students covered by any health plan, where one may have a high deductible, limited benefits, or no coverage for charges incurred at Campus Health. Please note that CampusCare is not health insurance.

Arizona Board of Regents (ABOR) Student Health Insurance Plan

The University of Arizona offers a top-tier Student Health Insurance Plan. Coverage extends nationwide, has an emergency benefit worldwide, and is administered by Aetna Student Health. Campus Health serves as the primary care provider. This plan is uniquely designed to meet the needs of college students.

Health Care Auto-Enrollment

Once enrolled, you will be automatically re-enrolled and billed the appropriate premium through the UA Bursar's office in future semesters (each fall and spring) within 3 business days of showing registration units, providing you meet eligibility. This also applies to students who have or have had a Graduate Assistantship. If you wish to cancel coverage, you must do so during the published open enrollment.

Spring Open Enrollment ends Wednesday, January 26, 2022. This is the last day to enroll for the Student Health Insurance or CampusCare. Enrolling is easy and completed through the UAccess Student Center. Once logged in, select “Campus Health Options” under the “Personal” tab.
