As your student prepares for their spring semester, here are a few tips as to what might be different, or the same, from the fall semester to the spring:

  • Classes may get more challenging

As many fall classes are prerequisites for the spring semester, your student might notice their classes becoming more challenging, but also, classes might be more enjoyable as they become more applicable to their desired major(s).

  • Its not too late to join clubs or student organizations
If your student didn’t find the right fit in their first semester, second semester is a whole new opportunity to get involved.
  • Spring Break is probably already on your student’s radar
Not all students go on a vacation for spring break. Although vacationing seems the norm, if it isn’t in the cards for your student, they will probably feel some FOMO (fear of missing out). Rest assured many students stay on campus to work, study, explore Tucson, and more. There are also alternative spring break options through ASUA and Campus Rec. The dorms will remain open during break, so there’s a lot of flexibility for students.
