Spring break is the perfect time to soak up the breezy and sunny Tucson weather or travel to a long-awaited vacation destination! No matter how your student chooses to spend their break, the BookStores is always making sure they make the most of it by providing some travel essentials and tips.

To ease your concern on the safety of your student during spring break, some of my favorite safety traveling tips include items that can be found at the BookStores! Staying hydrated is number one on my How to Travel Safely List. Using my reusable water bottle from the BookStores does not only save me money but also ensures that I am drinking enough water during my trip. Second on my list is to bring a portable charger. The BookStores has Pop Charger and disposable chargers that are the perfect size to throw into a bag and be on your way. If my phone is low on battery, I know I can still be in contact with someone if need be! Last on my list is to bring a lock to keep my luggage secure. Before your Wildcat hits the road, make sure they have the best experience by staying safe!

Is your Wildcat going to enjoy Spring Break in Tucson? There are plenty of unique opportunities for them to have fun on campus. The Tucson Festival of Books (TFOB) is a sponsored event by the BookStores and invites major authors, illustrators, vendors, and STEM activities all to campus! A range of authors participate, from those who write about sports to those writing about nuestras raices. The presenting authors will meet with their readers to discuss their books and do signings. If your student is interested in STEM, TFOB includes a Science City area with hands-on activities, science presentations, laboratory tours, and open houses! TFOB is on Saturday, March 14, and Sunday, March 15, from 9:30am to 5:30pm. Everyone, not only your Wildcat, can participate in the fun learning opportunities presented at the Tucson Festival of Books.

The same week of TFOB, the Pac-12 basketball tournament is happening in Las Vegas! To help cheer on our Wildcats, the BookStores has 2020 Las Vegas Pac-12 tournament tees for sale. If you are rooting from Vegas or from home, you can pick up a tee online or in-stores. Then, March Madness begins a week later and with eighteen wins under the UArizona basketball team’s belt, we are one to watch! Cheer on your Wildcats and show your support with apparel found at the BookStores.

For those who have graduating seniors, there are only two months left in the semester! During one of the most exciting times in your student’s life, it can be overwhelming, but the BookStores makes it easy to pick up all the necessities. GradFest is an event for all graduates to purchase their regalia and get information on how to stay involved with the UArizona as alumni. In addition to regalia available for purchase, they can buy a diploma frame for 20% off, a class ring, and graduation invitations. This event is taking place on March 24 through the 27 from 9:00am to 5:00pm at the BookStoes, SUMC in the rotunda. If your student cannot attend GradFest, the BookStores has a counter dedicated to all graduation needs. The Grad Counter is located on the lower level, underneath the staircase, and it is open Monday through Friday from 10:30am to 4:30pm.

March begins with a much-needed vacation- or a staycation- and ends with a jam-packed month filled with activities to look forward to. Whether your student is looking for spring break essentials or graduation regalia the BookStores has them covered!

Buy UA For UA.  The University of Arizona BookStores is a university-owned and operated store.  As the University’s official campus store, any purchases made go back into the campus community to support all Wildcats through scholarships, student clubs funding, employment opportunities, and campus programs and initiatives.
