Safety over Sanity?

It seems we are all faced with this decision more often these days, both for ourselves and for our Wildcats. I recently saw a statistic that 36% of the University of Arizona undergraduate students are feeling somewhat isolated and/or lonely this semester. As parents we can keep reminding them that it won’t last forever and helping find opportunities to be positive; teaching them how to balance the safety vs. sanity see-saw if you will. In the meantime, one of those opportunities to make the safety vs. sanity balance a little easier is happening at Campus Rec.

Just 20 minutes of exercise can boost brain chemicals vital for memory and mood. Who can’t use a boost like that? At Campus Rec we still have a variety of options to find this 20 min boost. With limited capacity, face covering requirements, new increased cleaning protocols, reservation options and virtual class options, you can feel confident that the safety of all of our patrons (and your Wildcats) is the top priority. Find more details about the Campus Rec Operations during COVID-19 here: https://rec.arizona.edu/current-operations.

During this time of finding balance, we are also finding ways to support our community with resources that might normally be found at events, campus fairs, or even just hitting the streets of Tucson. Some of our Campus Rec sponsors have pitched in to offer some freebies and coupons, and many of them are easily accessible right from your phone or computer. We can’t thank these sponsors enough for supporting us pre, during, and post COVID. Please visit our All-Star Savings Team and their offers here: https://rec.arizona.edu/partnerships/savings-team.

Keep finding that balance for yourself and your Wildcat!
