Opportunities Abound in Upcoming Virtual Career Fairs
It’s easy to underestimate how much time it takes to mount a successful internship or job search. Most students are attending school full-time and many also hold a part-time job. Add to that the research and preparation needed for a successful internship or job search, and it’s no wonder if worry starts to creep in. But we’re here to help.
We’ve optimized the job search for your student. During Spring Career Days (February 9, 10, & 11), students can meet more than 150 employers virtually via Handshake. These employers want to meet Wildcats to fill more than 1,000 internships and 2,500 full-time jobs in corporations, non-profits, and government agencies.
Students seeking full-time employment after graduation or internship experience prior to graduation will find opportunities and useful information.
In this virtual format, there’s not standing in line hoping to get a few minutes with a recruiter. For Spring Career Days students can schedule 1:1 ahead of time with individual employers in addition to attend group sessions with other students. Group sessions is akin to an information session. Students can use this time to explore different industries, gather information on future internships, find out about the job outlook in specific fields or talk to real-world recruiters from all sectors. After all, it’s never too early to start thinking about career options!
While there are plenty of opportunities for engineering, technology or science majors, there are just as many for other majors. In fact, more than 60% of Career Days employers want to hire from any major. They’re looking for students who possess skills like leadership, ability to work in a team, and initiative, for example.
