Career Readiness Takes Many Forms
There are many ways for students to prepare for their career after college: on-campus jobs, volunteering, participating in a student club or activities in the classroom. Sometimes students need to develop confidence in their skills or need a more hands-on experiences. Student Engagement & Career Development offers several programs to meet these needs.
PREPARE FOR THE WORKPLACE, GAIN CONFIDENCE: BUILD THE SKILL
Through Build the Skill, students can develop important transferrable skills that will help them personally and professionally: Leadership, Collaboration or Professional Communication. Whether their post-college plans include getting a job, going to graduate school or exploring their options, they can count on taking these skills with them!

COLLABORATE & CREATE: DESIGN THINKING CHALLENGE
When students join a Design Thinking Challenge three important things happen. They connect with other students on campus from a variety of majors and colleges while working on a team. Two, they utilize the power of collaboration to create new ideas. Three, those new ideas tackle real problems from three community organizations, leading to real solutions. Students can bring their own team or join one when they register. Challenge runs February 6 - April 10.

GET CAREER CLARITY. SHADOW A PROFESSIONAL
In just one day over spring break (March 9-13, 2020), students can discover the answers to all their burning job-related questions through firsthand experience shadowing a professional. Spring 2020 job shadow opportunities will be open for application February 3-23, 2020.
