The month of October is a big month for our Wildcats. With midterms, football games, and family weekend all in one month, life can get a little overwhelming. The stress that comes with taking care of oneself (physically and mentally), keeping up with a social life, and passing exams, is a feeling only a student will be able to understand.

Campus Recreation helps to reduce those stress levels by being that safe space for students to come and relax without having to worry about anything else going on in their personal lives.

Not just a gym. Over the years, Campus Recreation has been able to identify itself as a space that students can go to when they need a break from the real world, a place where everyone can feel comfortable just walking in. And with a wide variety of services and activities, Campus Rec can provide something to each student’s liking.

Studies have shown that with a healthy mindset, students are able to be more successful. This is where Campus Rec comes in. Our main goal is overall student success and that is why we have resources for students in our facilities to help Wildcats be successful academically as well. The Office of Student Computing Resources (OSCR) Lab is located in the lobby of the main Student Recreation Center (The REC). Whether it is to check an email, look up D2L, or get technical support, the OSCR Lab is there to help.

Another amazing resource at the REC is Think Tank. Think Tank is open to all current students for free drop-in Spanish, French, math, and writing tutoring. Wildcats can conveniently stop by for a free tutoring session before or after their workout.

The atmosphere is just as important. Spread throughout the REC are tables and chairs giving students the opportunity to sit and eat or do homework. Upstairs on the 2nd floor of the REC there are couches with tables for a different type of environment to relax or study.

Along with the REC, there is also a Fitness & Wellness Center at the north end of campus (NorthREC) where more services are available to students. Counseling and Psych Services (CAPS) is a great resource for students who can get the right treatment at the right time. NorthREC also offers comfortable seating all throughout the facility for students to relax and take in a different scenery throughout their day.

Campus Recreation is here for our Wildcats with many resources to help them succeed.
