Next Year is a New Year
Hello parents and families! As your student wraps up their year at the University of Arizona, it is important to remember that next year is a new year. No matter how long they have been at the University of Arizona they will be facing new challenges, and there will be new opportunities available to them.
The good news is that each student has an opportunity to have an even better year, and feel a stronger sense of belonging at the University of Arizona. While they likely felt disconnected for the past year to year and half, they can reconnect with campus. Everything is new again!
Some new things your student might be experiencing:
- Moving off campus
- Paying new bills
- Negotiating travel to and from campus (and what that means for using campus resources)
- Not having a meal plan
- Taking classes in their major
- Being concerned their major isn’t a good fit
- Looking for internships
- Looking for jobs or careers after graduation
- Thinking about graduate or professional school, worrying about those tests and options
- Having friends transfer to other universities
- Navigating campus
Students continuously experience many new things as they continue their college career, in addition to whatever might be happening in their home life. The great news is that the University of Arizona has resources to help students throughout all of these transitions, and changes.
