Lori M. Headshot

Lori was born and raised in Douglas, Arizona. She moved to Tucson to become a first-grade teacher after graduating from the University of Arizona in 1994. She graduated as part of the first class from the UofA’s School of Education at its Sierra Vista campus. While teaching full-time, Lori attained not one, but two master's degrees in Bilingual and Multicultural Education and School Counseling. She then went on to become a Nationally Board-Certified Counselor. Eventually, Lori left teaching to pursue her dream of opening an Equine Assisted Therapy Program.
In 2016, Lori earned her certification from EAGALA (Equine Assisted Growth and Learning Association). She then fulfilled her dream by creating and operating Spirit Therapeutic Equestrian Program (STEP) to assist clients in a safe and healthy environment in which everyone can experience the healing power of horses.
Besides her work accomplishments, Lori donates her time and money supporting Therapeutic Riding of Tucson (TROT). She is most proud, however, of her 2 children, one of whom is a Junior at the UofA seeking her degree in Animal and Equine Science. Lori is proud to be a Wildcat for life.
