Melissa Lowe has been the Faculty Fellow Arts Coordinator since 1998.  Melissa helps to bring the performing arts to students served by the Faculty Fellows program.  With the help and support of her Faculty Fellows colleagues, Melissa finds ways to make tickets affordable to students and their Faculty Fellows, as well as coordinate presentations and discussions with artists and faculty colleagues.

Laurel Cox is an actively involved senior who currently hangs her hat in two different "hometowns" Tucson, AZ and Atyrau, Kazakhstan. She is a Molecular and Cellular Biology major with a minor in Arabic who has been very involved in a number of campus activities.

Supporting Student Research

The UA Parents & Family Association has recently funded the UA Graduate College’s Summer Research Opportunity Program (SROP).  SROP provides graduate school preparation to students who are first-generation college students, from low income backgrounds and/or are from minority groups that are underrepresented in higher education.  SROP provides students with mentoring from UA faculty in the student’s field of study as well as support and guidance from program staff.
